About the poets
Jamaican and Puerto Rican poet Amy M. Alvarez is the winner of both the 2025 American Book Award and CariCon Poetry Prize for her book, Makeshift Altar (2024). She is also the co-editor of Essential Voices: A COVID-19 Anthology (2023). She currently teaches writing and literature at Boston College.
Rebecca Hart Olander’s books include Dressing the Wounds (dgp, 2019), Uncertain Acrobats (CavanKerry, 2021), and Singing from the Deep End (CavanKerry, 2026). Rebecca has taught poetry widely, most recently as the James Merrill Visiting Poet at Amherst College. She is the publisher at Perugia Press. Rebecca grew up between Boston and Gloucester and lives in Western Massachusetts.
Kali Lightfoot is a queer Thursday Poet in Salem, MA. Her poems have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes, and Best of the Net. Her debut collection, Pelted by Flowers, was a “Must Read” in the Massachusetts Book Awards. Her new second collection, Big Band Night at the Good Life Bar is available at moonpiepress.com.
